IOG + SNMP Error
Ok i'am all kinda new to this so maybe i'am missing something very simple. But i been trying to run IOG, http://www.dynw.com/iog/ on my gateway to monitor data usage on both the internal eth0 and external eth1 cards.
When it runs, it returns the following error: -
SNMP Error: no response received
SNMPv1_Session (remote host: "127.0.0.1" [127.0.0.1].161)
request ID: -1231765408
PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes
My iog.cfg looks like this : -
i'am pretty sure i got the ifInOctets/IfOutOctets right, so i not sure where i'am going wrong ??
Ok, so did you install SNMP support as well?
If not, you should take a look at NET-SNMP and install that.
Which distro do you use? Or are you comfortable with Source-Tar-Ball?
Then you should be able to download it from NET-SNMP web page, make sure that you read the configuration instructions and fire up the snmp Server/deamon as well
thanx for the help swemic.
I ended up working out the problem, first i installed NET-SNMP and all it's packages, but i was still receiving the same problem.
Then i edited the /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf file to read
rocommunity public 127.0.0.1
and all seemed to work fine when i added in the 127.0.0.1.
