IP addressing problem???
If i want to set up a LAN and i am not attaching this LAN to Internet. So In that case, can i use any IP addresses or only private IP addresses i have to use???
Why this classification of private addresses??? I am using only LAN without internet???
You can assign any IP addresses you wish on your own LAN. It is segregated (at least in IPv4) from the WAN so they do not interfere with each other.
That said there are certain conventions used; 192.168.?.?, 10.?.?.? and for automatically generated IPs where DHCP has failed 169.254.?.?
