Linux File Store
At the moment my company are using SVN to keep documents synchronised on the central file store as the only machine available to IT is a Windows XP Pro. We also require remote access to the files which SVN allows.
We'd like to move away from the SVN as it's not proving to be a great solution and I thought that VPN could be the answer. However, XP only allows 1 connection to be active at any one time. Would using Linux on the file store allow us to achieve what we required?
The XP Pro allows more than one as I remember (can's say I am right tho).. but anyway... you can use Linux for storage with a Samba server.. like a windows share... configuring a vpn service (e.g. pptp) will allow you to establish a secure connection from remote destination to the linux and access the shares..
