What's the actual model of the card? Suse may or may not support it. Does it show up in Yast --> Network Devices --> Network Card? You may just need to configure it.
have you tried via YaST -> network drvices, do you get errors?
also you can find out about your card with thecommand in the termiinal.Code:lsmod
dylunio

Try to configure it in YAST and see whether it will let you.
I tried yast but I am new to linux so it was a bit confusing to do the settins on the other hand my wired connection is working and I am able to connect to the internet.
can you guys please help me with details on how to make my wireless connection work
When you select the wireless card and click on the Configure button, what does it ask for?
It ask for a dns and essid and incription and other stuff
Well, that's good actually...it sounds like it recognizes the card. The ESSID is the SSID from your wireless router...for linksys routers the default is usually linksys, and I've seen wireless and netgear as defaults for netgear routers.
WEP is there for encryption. If you don't know what it is, you're probably not using it.
Is there an option to allow the DNS server to be set by DHCP? If there is, you will want to use that option.
