Network card not connected
Hi everyone,
I just installed SUSE (linux enterprise Server
10) on my computer (DELL), every thing seems to
work correctly except the internet connexion,
the OS doesn't recognize the integrated network
card Intel(R)82567LM-3, I tried to install it
manually: the network card doesn't figure out in
default list given by the system and no one in
the list is compatible with it,also tried with
the original CD (DELL Device Drivers) but it
shows an error, tried also to download a driver (e1000e-1.3.17.tar.gz) but this doesn't work also, It shows errors while following the instructions given :
Running the command : rmpbuild _tb /e1000e-1.3.17.tar.gz shows the following errors :
error: Name field must be present in package: (main package) error: Version field must be present in package: (main package) error: Release field must be present in package: (main package)
error: Summary field must be present in package: (main package)
error: Group field must be present in package: (main package)
error: License field must be present in package: (main package)
May the device be protected by the manufacturer?
so it can't work with other OS other than
Windows (Cause I have windows XP on the same
computer and the internet connection works
correctly when I switch to it )
Any suggestions please help.
