hello,

when i issue the commands tracert and ping to a particular ip address..

i didn't recieve anything....

i mean to say is , it shows me "Request time out" why is it so like that..

can Anybody help me in this regard

Check the hardware connection.
Check that both machines have their NICs configured and up.
Be a bit more explicit about what environment you're in, e.g., where the machines are, what OS they're running, what network services are installed and how they're configured...
