NIS users: Unexpected change of permission!
I am a new member of the forum, so I don't know has anyone met this type of NIS problem. Any help will be much appreciated.
I've just set up a NIS master server running Debian GNU/Linux Sarge, and some NIS client on Mandrake Linux 9.2 (a fairely old distribution, I know, but my client PCs are not poweful enough to install a new distro).
Everything seems to work properly. I can login at any machine with a NIS user account. After a login, the user is placed well at their home directory on the Debian server, but the account does not have write permission on their home directory. (If I login using the account at the server, surly I can do everything within the home directory of the account).
I don't know why this happens.
Can anyone can show me a reason? Thank you for your help.
