I have 2 pc's at my home and they are conneceted to a firewall modem. The 2 internal pc's are under private network with static IP addresses.
I want to connect to a remote pc using SSH but my pc is in a LAN with firewall protected. I heard that we can by pass the firewall using port forwarding through port 22. I am not sure how to do that.
One more question is how to make one my pc's IP address static 'coz every time i restart my pc i get the dynamic ipaddress given by my ISP provider using DHCP. I know that we can change the IP addresses through /etc/network/interfaces. But, if i change my eth0 address to static then i have to disable my DHCP server in my modem right???
I would install Guarddog. It will make managing your ports... well... more manageable. ;)
Should be able to apt-get it too.
