Q abt ipv6 support
I read with interest a thread in this section begun by someone who said his Internet was "toooooooo... slow" Part of the response was to check whether ipv6 was compiled and perhaps not supported by his ISP.
Here's the thread FWIW:
I have a router/firewall running on SuSE 8.0 which has the following line in /etc/modules.conf
alias net-pf-10 ipv6
just below that is a line (commented out)
# alias net-pf-10 off
I am not having a particular problem with speed, but who knows! I don't know if my ISP supports ipv6 or not. I don't know if my performance could be better or not.
Am I correct in assuming that I could # the one line and un-# the other, restart and compare? Or should I change the ipv6 line to read
alias net-pf-10 ipv6 off
and leave the other one alone and then restart and compare?
Or should I find something else to worry about!
