From Scratch CHROOT BIND
I have been reading up on how to install bind chroot from scratch and have not found anything particularly easy to follow. Like everyone else I could just install the package apt-get or yum but would like to understand where the files are located, what rights are needed and how to combine DHCP with it.
I am jumping around with CentOS 5.4 and Backtrack 4.
If anyone could point me into the direction of friendly information, it would be much appreciated.
I wouldn't say you need to install from scratch. Install with apt-get, next step would be configuring.
A nice tutorial is Linux Howtos: Security -> Bind-Chroot-Howto (Debian)
Once it's up and running you may set up your DHCP server to point to your new DNS server.
Depending on what you need to achieve there may be another solutions, like dnscache.
