Setting up DNS redirecting
I have the following entries in a zone file in bind9:
I'm trying to make it so that when ever anyone on my internal network resolves "voip.mydomain.com" that will resolve hotmails IP Address (As you can see I'm trying to use a CNAME record). If they try to resolve home, mydomain, com, then it should resolve to an internal IP Address I have.
$ORIGIN home.mydomain.com. ; designates the start of this zone file in the namespace
$TTL 1h ; default expiration time of all resource records without their own TTL value
; BIND data file for mydomain.com
(AT) IN SOA home.mydomain.com. home.mydomain.com. (
2011120301 ; Serial
7200 ; Refresh
120 ; Retry
2419200 ; Expire
604800) ; Default TTL
(AT) IN NS localhost.
home.mydomain.com. A 10.0.0.1
winpc IN A 10.0.0.4
voip.mydomain.com. CNAME yahoo.com. ;TEST
ld IN CNAME hotmail.com. ;TEST
Currently only resolving winpc and ld works, resolving full domain names doesn't do anything, they resolve to their public IP addresses.
I had to use commas instead if (AT) in place of the at symbol when posting too cause of my post limit.
Does anyone know why, and how to fix?
