tty is higher when i ping on lan ? why?
hey guys my inet went down and i did a ping to yahoo and it timed out, so i pinged my router and get this response
Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=155
then after inet went back up i pinged www.yahoo.com and get this response
Reply from 220.127.116.11: bytes=32 time=85ms TTL=46
i tested both places for the ping and it might be a nub question but i wanted to know why the ttl (timetolive) is higher on a packet that has virtually 2 feet to travel where one that must travel >10 miles has a very low ttl. replys with info would be nice
