what materials need to setup my LAN

I have two computers...... i want to connect them to LAN.....
what material need to connect them to LAN....
for one system there is inbuild NIC card..... please guide me....

for a basic BASIC lan you need 1 nic card in each and a crossover cabble between them. if you want dsl or cabble internet shared, you need a router, a nic card in each, and a strait through ethernet cabble between your router and pc's. i dont know 100% about modem to router, but i think it's strait, consult your manual.
