Xandros - SUSE - Mandriva???
Hello
I'm ne to all this but not Windows which I have used for years.
Heck before all that and Win31 I was using DOS!
Wow - bad flash back!
I was at a web site that listed these.
Xandros 3.02 OCE (PC)
Contents: 1 Install CD
openSUSE 10.2 (PC)
Contents: 5 Install CDs
Mandriva One 2007 Spring - KDE Edition (PC)
Contents: 1 Install/Live CD
Mandriva 2007 Spring (PC)
Contents: 1 Install DVD
I would like to add something reliable and stable and similar features to windows to my second computer and check it out before installing it on all my systems!
Anyway would any of you have any recommendations for a linux version it doesn't have to be what I have listed here?
Thank you one and all for your help!

From the list, I personally would go with Xandros but that's just me. If you asked me straight up, which distro would be best to begin with, I'd answer Ubuntu hands down.
sandman383, I hope you will take this in the best possible way as I have no wish to upset you, but from my experience, it is the more experienced Windows users that have the hardest time making the transition to Linux. I strongly advise you to read the linked article in my signature before doing anything. It will answer a lot of questions you'll have as you explore Linux. After reading and proceeding, please feel free to ask me or anyone else here questions you have. We are all here to help you. Good luck!

Hey,
I will suggest you openSUSE 10.2 which have cool graphics. Moreover userfriendly, flexible utilities like Yast which help you to configure, install your devices, softwares.
Further if you need to install softwares applications utilities you can get those on net without any big deal.Regards,
