    Question proftpd not starting...

    I just installed proftpd. After it was installed by apt-get and attempted to start I got this error message:

    - IPv6 getaddrinfo 'obnox.com' error: Name or service not known
    c-xx-xx-xx-xxx.hsd1.mi.comcast.net - fatal: Socket operation on non-socket
    I am behind a router with "Virtual Server" setup to go to a server on my WAN with a static IP address.

    How would I go about fixing this?

    Solved

    Originally setting proftpd to "standalone" did not work. But I uninstalled (using --purge) and then re-installed... it worked. Maybe there was packetloss when I downloaded from repos... who knows.
