How to Install Ubuntu without Bootable CD Driver?
I had so much fun installing Ubuntu the first time, (You might remember me from a thread two weeks ago) I decided to do it again on YET ANOTHER salvaged computer from before Y2K. (Having given the first one to my grandma) This one, however, demands a floppy, (With no options to press anything until it says "Please insert diskette and press enter to reboot") and will not boot from the CD-ROM drive. Is there anyway to make it boot from the CD-ROM, or am I going to have to get a new hard drive?

It sounds like the boot order is royally messed up. I suggest spamming the various F keys as soon as you can in the boot in order to see if you can somehow access Setup.
