    .cnr to .deb?

I was trying to download a program to install in Ubuntu but it says it is not recognized. It's a .cnr file not a .deb. I know that the .deb files I can install fine but the .cnr ones aren't recognized. Is there another program that I need to install to use these files? Or is there a way to convert them to .deb files similar to the way you can convert .zip to .rar? Perplexed but still google searching! Thanks!

Which program are you trying to install in Ubuntu? Post name and other details of that program here.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
