    Hello I just installed openSUSE 10.2 and I'm trying to connect to the internet could someone please help me?

    You need to post some specs to your machine, is it 64 bit? Is this a Wireless or Ethernet card and most importantly, which chipset does the card use?

    It's an inspiron 120 and I have a broadcom network card and I have tried using both wired and wireless.

    So, are you trying to connect through DSL?
    Or do you perhaps have a dedicated line? (then you should follow the link Mike supplied)

    i myself use pppoe for my ADSL connection. You then have to edit files:
    1. PAP (or) CHAP-secrets
    2.pppoe.conf

    THe files will be located on different places depending on the distribution you use.

    Sorry I just put that thread there because I thought I put this one in the wrong place. Does anyone have any idea how to help me? And also for some reason my opensuse partition is slowing down my windows partition.

    We can move this thread to another forum if you want. Just PM any board admin with where you want it.

    The opensuse partition shouldn't have anything to do with speed of windows partition. There must be something else going on with windows.
