Installing Adobe Flash for Mandriva 2007-I need some help

I have been trying to get Adobe's flashplayer onto my system, but am really lost and having great difficulty doing so. I need some very very basic help doing this. I would appreciate it if someone wouldn't mind helping out someone as ignorant as me!

    Hiya houdi,
You should be able to use Firefox, just browse to any Flash website, like youtube, and you should get a pop up asking if you want to install flash.
If that doesn't work, tell us what you have done so far, and we'll try to help you install it manually.

I have tried that, but have to install it from source. I asked a buddy tonight and he told me how to do it, though I am still having some trouble. I have extracted the file, pulled it up in the terminal window and type in "./install_flash_player_9_linux/" but the next line simply says "is a directory". I am not sure what to do now. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the first post MikeTbob!

After extracting the file, then change to the directory with
    cd directoryname
    then use ./configure
    make
    make install
