M5451 sound card problem

Hi,

I have a toshiba satellite 1805 S253 laptop. The sound card is detected in the hardware profiles, but somehow it can't find the

driver. The sound card info is

Ali Corporation
M5451 PCI AC-Link Controller Audio Device

But when i try to play test sound it says

Trident Driver could not be loaded.

when i excute command "modprobe trident" get the results:

trident_ac97_init: error resetting 5451.
/lib/modules/2.4.21-pre3/kernel/drivers/sound/trident.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.


can somebody tell direct me to a solution to this problem?

my distribution is Redhat kernel is 2.4.20.
