I would like to set up an ircd on my home box to test irc bots and I was wondering what the best/defaco ircd was?

I run Ubuntu and as such have looked at what apt-get has to offer:

ircd
ircd-dalnet
ircd-hybrid
ircd-irc2
ircd-ircu

As far as I can tell they are various branches of the original ircd.
