Questions?
i am not sure where to put this so i put it in the newbie section. I have a couple of questions about the new lenovo x61 7767-96u tablet pc i just bought. On a side note windows vista suck, but on my computer it is constantly freezing, and locking up. There are several people on line who have tried various things but nothing seems to work so i was wondering.
1. Can i install linux on the x61 tablet and have the tablet still functional as well as the fingerprint scanner and pretty much everything on the laptop.
2. If this stuff does work can i install ms one note or a similar version on the laptop
3. I now have ubuntu installed on my home computer and i was wondering what to do next. I know it sounds stupid but i am so new to linux that i amnit sure what to do with it so any pushes in the right direction would be appriciated.
Thanks

The CPU itself is pretty standard on that thing but I couldn't tell you if the touchscreen functionality or anything else will work in Linux. Tablet PCs are very specialized hardware and there's a good chance that there are no Linux drivers for all the devices on it.
Linux is not Microsoft Windows. It's a separate operating system and you will not be able to run software designed for Microsoft Windows in Linux without some special work on your part. That means installing either an emulator of some kind (VMWare, Parallels) or a piece of translation software (WINE, Cedega, Codeweavers' Crossover).2. If this stuff does work can i install ms one note or a similar version on the laptop

Not sure about the tablet functionality but you should be able to get the fingerprint reader to work using Thinkfinger.
