Hi guys,

Ive recently made the move to Ubuntu, I still run windows XP as my secondary OS as the rest of my family re use to it and find Linux confusing.

Ive also got a MacBook Pro laptop, my questions is this...

Basically I want some form of network storage what will be accessible from my network and all the different OS's

As I am new to Linux my question comes in a few parts:

1 - What partition type should I be using (I will be storing music, moves documents the usual really) My initial thinking was FAT(32) however I believe there are issues with larger files (please correct me if I am mistaken)

2 - Would it be cheaper/ a better option to go for larger USB2 external HDD's? not sure how compatible with Linux or Mac OS X these are

3 - Is there any other advice you could give as it would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks
Kris
