compiling the kernel for IDE support. Which options to pick?

I'm currently running slackware 12 and I'm trying to compile my kernel. I believe it is ver. 2.6.21.5. I've ran the 'make menuconfig' and in that there is the device drivers menu. My question is why does it have 2 submenus for ide drivers? There is "ATA/ATAPI/MFM/RLL Support" and then there's "SATA/PATA drivers". Say I have a ich6 chipset, Do I have to pickup both drivers from the two?
