Well you dont have one library then.
To fix this i need to know way more about your system.
    For example, what Distro?
    What Package Manerger?

i am using debian sarge , i also tried on ubuntu 7.04 though, but the same problem " cannot open libssl.so.4 : no such file or directory " .

software installs an executable named " sifyconnect " in /usr/bin, may be it needs path to point to libssl by the user or something like that.

I have never heard of sify. What Packages does it use? deb or rpm or ebuilds?

Well, if you need to point to it its in the /lib folder..

heh sorry but I am not planning to install that..
    What Packages does it use?

    Edit:
Sorry I just see that you dont use a package but a Source Based thingy.
Try pointing it to the /lib as I told before
