Wink Ubuntu under VMware running windows XP

well...after lot of problems trying to install the drivers for my wireless card under Ubuntu...i have decided to install VMware and run Ubuntu under my Windows XP. im going to use a bridge network connection so i will have internet access. i already install everything and runs beautiful.
My question is simple....will be any different to run an OS from VMware than the real thing?!?. I pretty much want to install the OS to learn...read the source code...twick things and stuff like that.
    any suggestions will be welcome.

at work i run Ubuntu in a vmware instance and it is no different than running on hardware directly except for certain caveats vmware does not support hardware acceleration on server and player editions as far as i know. plus you are using system resources not tied up in windows which slows both systems down a small amount but nothing unmanageable. whats also fun about vmware is that if you pooch it to bad you can create a snapshot and restore to that and you arent without a system for an amount of time while you fix or re-install. plus you can run multiple instances so trying out distros is more efficient.
