Another Internet connection question
I have Windows XP & Ubuntu installed on my computer.
I now connect to the Internet only with Windows XP thru an ADSL modem. (Modem supplied by the telephone company.)
I would like to be able to connect to the Internet through my ADSL line, with either of the two systems as I choose.
Question then is:
Is there an ethernet card, router, modem, (or router-modem combo) that both systems will detect?
Thanks
Talmano

You probably won't have any problems connecting.
What is your current network card? You can get some info about it by going to a terminal and running the lspci command.
I also use ADSL and have never had a problem connecting with Linux, or Windows.oz

Yes, I do have problems connecting with Ubuntu, with my present setup. The modem is an ASKEY ALE-130 ADSL USB modem.
At this time I do not use an ethernet card. The modem connects directly to the USB connector.
Now, as shown in my signature, I do have a " Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Adapter" on the ASUS motherboard.
My thought was to enable the Realtek ethernet adapter, and purchase a router modem combo that would work for both op systems, and of course was compatible with the Reltek adapter.
What do you think?
