450 Mhz CPU, 128 Kb RAM, 32 Kb VidMem run which distro

    hi everyone,

As I stated, 450 Mhz CPU, 128 Kb RAM, 32 Kb VidMem
    a serial mouse A4 Tech

and I want to run a Linux on desktop and I don't know which distro and version I might be able to use to optimize this test unit...

so I'm hoping someone can give a suggestion

due to these matters of restriction, I've initially decided to go with Debian etch - only managed to get the base installation iso... and XFree86 4.7.0 for the GUI, which unfortunately I've had so much trouble trying to configure...

in the end, i'm just wishful it would be possible for me to run LAMP on this machine, and run a browser on this same machine to view a simple site that I wish to set up.

very needful of intuitive, very detailed suggestions... thanks

ok, sorry 'bout that... i asked first and later only found the Which Distro thread... perhaps it could be a protocol to provide rookies a link to this one.
    specially the :

What is your favorite Linux distribution for older/weaker hardware?

however, i just found it disappointing that even the light weight : vector should have a full installation cd... i'm having download problems that is why i only want i full installer as big as debian's < 200 Mb base installer.

going through the thread now... hope i do find what I need

It is protocol, actually. You just found it on your own before we could react.

Puppy and Damn Small are much smaller than a full 700MB CD. If you're looking for small, those would be my next suggestions (and they're in the Which Distro thread, too).
