Vodafone 3G modem

Forgive my Ignorance but I am after downloading ubuntu 7.1 as an alternate OS. I normally deal with xp and have a vodafone 3g modem, I have the driver from the spanish site but am unable to access the modem on ubuntu when I downlaod the driver the message displayed is Errorependency is not satiafiableython-twisted. I have viewed threads on other sites regarding this matter but I am not sure should I be opening TTY or changing a system file. If someone could expalin how to make these changes I would be eternally greatful.

Can you temporarily connect to the internet another way and download it manually?

Thanks for that, I am saving these file to a usb and transferring them to ubuntu via the usb. When I try to download these files it tells me that the files may be corrupted or permissions need to be changed.

When i go to the properties of the file It wont allow to engage the executable command this cannot be overwritten.

python-twisted-core_2.5.0-2build1_all.deb, Im assuming this is the correct file.
