Which tutorials?
Hi guys,
I have a friend who has been a Windows systems engineer since 3.11 for Workgroups and he's just lost his job. He knows absolutely nothing about Linux and wants to change his skills area over the next six months to Linux as there are several companies advertising employment within Linux administration in his home town.
Unfortunately I live in a different area and we have tried some Linux lessons without huge success. We've looked at tutorials on the net and there are thousands, some good - most bad. The problem with these tutorials is they focus on getting you accomplished with music players and Firefox etc. which is great for XP convertees wanting a straight replacement but it doesn't teach you how Linux is structured, how the file system is arranged, hardware administration and use of the command line (for someone who will eventually be administering and developing on Linux).
Can anyone recommend some good noob tutorials or books which focus on the right bits rather than casual desktop use?
Cheers fellas.
Can anyone recommend any tutorials that they have seen
