Solved: Printing one page, gives three pages.

(Problem just solved: Please see next post.)

    Hi.

I was able to get my Lexmark printer running on Mepis/Linux, as few day ago.
I then only did one print, and did not bother, that I got more then one pages of output for printing one page.

Today I wanted to do some serious printing, but find it annoying that:

When I print a job, for example one single page: I get two extra outputs per page:

    1) One page with a window in the center, which says:
    Job ID: alexanders_printer-78
    Title: (name of document)
    Requesting User: alexander
    Billing Info: job-billing

Further, there are two icons at the bottom of that unwanted page:
Left icon: Written "UNIX Printing System" inside of a big "C" -icon
    Right icon: "Easy Sofware Products"

    2) Second print out, is the actual page, I want to have, and it looks ok.

    3) Third page is the same as first page.

So, each time I print a page, I get two extra prints, I do not want: How can I stop this? Sett it back, so that I only get what I see in the print preview?

Thank you, for your attention, and I will appreciate your help.

    Alexander

    Problem solved.

    Problem solved.

This is how I had to proceed:

1.) Print System/Menu for the print system

    2.) Print Manager

    3.) Information/alexanders_printer

    4.) Administrator Mode

5.) "Run as root - KDE su"

    6.) Properties

    7.) Banner Settings/Modify Printer

    8.) Banner Selections

    9.) Starting banner: "No banner"
    Ending banner: "No banner"

    10.) "Finish"

Problem solved. Printing normal: You get what you see in print preview.
One page is one page, and not tree pages (without banners)...

    Thank you, for your attention.

....Another question, when we are talking about printing:

The print of my first page with photo, was perfect, but the following prints of the same page, showed streaks on the photo.

My printer says "Low Toner", but I read once, that one can shake the cartridge a few times, before replacing/refilling it: I might have to do it now, as it showing those streaks.

    - Any other recommendations?

    - Does anybody know by chance, if there is some original refill toner from Lexmark available, for the Lexmark E350d?

Anyway, I read, that one should only use the original cartridges for refilling. On can refill a cartridge tree times, then one should buy a new one.

As I only have the one which came with my new printer, I will have to buy a new one soon, but keep the "empty" one, for refilling for the next time, when there is hopefully some original toner available.

Well, thanks for your attention again. Have a nice day.

    Kind regards,
    Alexander
