    Wink New To Linux:Help on NIC Driver Installation


    Hey,
    Hi and Namaste to Everybody,
    I successfully dual booted Redhat and Windows(with many tutorials)
    and now i need help on NIC Driver installation..
    the driver for linux consists one c file , make file and readme file.
    Using read me file i did folloing.
    #make install
    on the driver directory but it says error in make file
    what do i need to do...

    What version of Linux kernel are you running?

    If it is 2.4.xx, then it shud have worked, since it don't require kernel source.

    But if your kernel version is 2.6.xx, then you need kernel source.

    If possible, please post the errors messages here.

    It would be really helpful if you posted the error. I think that you may have not installed gcc or make.
