    Connection Restarts

Hopefully someone can help me. Ive tried different distributions, and all have the same problem. When I download some large file, my connect restarts every x minutes , and continues again. I do not receive this problem under Windows.

I am currently dual booting with Ubuntu.

What type of connection do you have?
Is it using DHCP? If so what is the lease time on it?

Comcast. It is set to automatic DHCP. I don't know about the lease time.

What are you using to DL the files with? Bittorrent? Comcast is actively fighting these types of connections presently.

Sounds like your cable box might have an issue. Is this an Comcast issued cable box? Might ask that they replace it.
