./configure "Error"
I'll admit it... I'm a Linux noob. I'm glad I located this sub-forum, because it answers a few questions I had...like looking for the "installer" to "run". The legacy of living in a MS dominated world....
Trying to install an Mp3 player and when I run ./configure (as root) the last output line is..
configure: error: no acceptable C complier found in $PATH
Does FC8 come with a complier or do I have to download one. If I have to download one, I'm wondering how I'm going to install it if I need a compiler to install software....
Wondering out loud...in Huntsville, Ontario...

Take a look at installing yum using this Fedora Guide:
The Unofficial Fedora FAQ
Using yum will simplify installing software for you. I think there's something there about installing mplayer, too.
