FC5 Deleted Boot Partition
I acidently deleted said partition, i don't have the install disk anymore, and the GRUB loader isn't very helpful as to how i go about reviving the boot, i've tried a few things but i just keep getting told the files don't exist and things like that, any help would be great, it's pretty much a clean install with 1 partition.

Welcome to the forums!
Just my opinion, but I'd recommend a fresh install of Fedora 8, as it would be quicker than trying to revive the damaged system. You should be able to use a linux liveCD to recover any important files from the old system before you install the new system over it.
Maybe someone will think differently about your chances of an easy recovery using the current installation.oz

Toughing it out
Sure, you can re-install, and considering the date on your post you probably already have, but that's hardly the *nix way.
I got here because pretty much the same thing happened to me (not Fedora, Debian Sid, and did remove the partition, just deleted everything on it), so I booted from my disk-on-key (puppy FTW) and searched the web for some pointers.
I have to admit, I was quite disheartened at your attitude. For about five seconds. And then I got over it, chrooted into my hard drive, apt-got the kernel, created a new initrd (update-initramfs) and rewrote my menu.lst like a real man
Now I'm gonna try and reboot. Pray for me.
