No sound with Red Hat Linux 9

    Hi there!

I have just installed RH9 on my pc, and I can't hear any sounds. There is no sound when I click on something, and there is no sounds when I try and play some mp3. I have checked to see if my volume is on mute and it is not on mute. Can anyone help?

Are the PCM and PCM2 options up to full or nearly full.....

If not try..try pushing them up.

have you tried the "detecting sound card" option in either the system tools or systems menu options, and if so, do you get a struming of a guitar?

If you do, have you set the Start Sound server to on/yes in the sound/video menu?

    have fun

Use Suse 10.1 and occasionally play with Kubuntu
Also have Windows 98SE and BeOS
