How can I make my own web browser using Linux?
I have a Toshiba PC laptop running Ubuntu 7.10. I have a little experience with python and the command line, but I'm willing to learn something else. How can I create my own web browser? I've got a couple projects going, and I've got lots of guides on building my own Linux distro, but I can't find anything on building my own browser. Any recommendations?

Hi,
I'm not sure I understand your question -- do you mean to write (i.e.
program) your own browser, or would you like to compile a
web browser?
If you intend the latter, many linux distros will provide source code for their
web browsers, and you task would "just" be to install these sources and
compile... which might be more or less tricky depending on the distro and
browser. Do you have a distro / browser in mind?
cheers, kai
