    Unhappy three Distros[grub fails]


    Hi,
    I have searched in GOD and on the forum, but haven't found the relevant answer.
    I had these versions installed previously
    Windows XP
    Mandriva 2008
    .
    The boot loader was Grub
    Now what i did i installed Red Hat Enterprize linux 5 on top of it
    what RHEL 5 did it cleared the grub of mandriva
    and installed its own Grub
    only showing two booting options
    RHEL and WINDOW XP.
    I again restarted the computer
    now its showing this grub>(cursor blinks)
    i tried to installed grub
    through RHEL
    but its not installing
    Is there any way to installed the Grub on top of it
    And get back my mandriva 2008 too.
    Help needed

    P.S[ in rescued the system with Mandriva 2008 dvd and checked the windows boot loader, so that i can atleast reply to forum and get an answer]

    2 gb ram

    An easy way to restore your grub is using the supergrub live-cd. If you got any problems/questions post back

    well I have googled a lot
    and i formatted my system
    this time i installed Red hat linux first after that i installed Mandriva 2008
    now same problem arises
    The grub installed by the mandriva overrights the rhel 5 grub
    give me only 2 boot options
    1 mandriva
    2 windows boot
    i have downloaded the iso of super grub
    and hope fully by 2moro i will work on it
    but can there is any options
    also
    i made both mandriva and rhel use the same swap space

    Boot in madriva, mount redhat partition and move to /boot/grub. open the menu.lst file and copy the redhat boot entry to your mandriva's menu.lst. That should do the trick
