security integration
Howdy (first time Linux user..)
I have just started to work with Redhat 8/9. Most of my life is Windows, 2K, 2k3, etc.
I was hoping someone could answer the following 2 questions:
1. Considering that W2k/3k uses Active Directory to centralise security, what does linux(redhat) use as an enterprise directory
2. How does Linux(redhat) integrate in Active directory (can it?).
I just see a move from MS to Linux in the next couple of years where I work (a big bank
) and I would love to get an overview now
Its never tooo late
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about RH, but in a Linux environment, you can use OpenLDAP for an AD replacement. Integrating Linux workstations into an AD network would be as easy as setting up OpenLDAP and samba to work with the domain.
