sound conflict...again?!!!
hello everyone...i'm just installing the soundcard driver from www.alsa-project.org and yet after i followed all the installation process when i reboot my computer the i cannot hear any sound either???i've have to log as root and run the modprobe snd-fm801;modprobe snd-pcm-oss;modprobe snd-mixer-oss;modprobe snd-seq-oss and i have to do this everytime when i bootup into linux could anyone help me to autostart it or sumthin'?

man modules.conf When the something searches for the soundcar/mixer it sends a device request for SND-SLOT-0 I think. Maybe it is sound-slot-0, read the man page. Basically you have to set an alias, and some post-install rules. I would give you mine, but I b0rked my install HARD last night, am redoing it as we speak (yay links)
