    Welcome to the forums!

Yes, the installer should give you the option to dual boot.

    thanks for the quick reply!
Another question: Can I install Xubutu and Ubuntu and try them both?
After I choose one distro, is it easy to uninstall the other?

    Yes, you can try both.

When you get ready to try the second distro, just install it directly over the first one.

You can install as many distros as you like in single HD. There is no restriction except disk space. I have 5 Linux Distros + Windows XP in my test machine.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    if your just trying out

you could always just test out the distro with a liveCD, to see if you like it first
