Computer Freezes while installing Xubuntu
Hello All,
I'm trying to install Xubuntu from the live CD, but every time I click install my computer just freezes. Also, it takes roughly 10mins for me to reach the Xubuntu desktop with the live CD. I've tried 3 times and have been unsuccessful . I also tried the "Run Xubuntu in Safe mode" to no avail.
The machine specs are:
P3 600Mhz
128MB RAM
30Gb HD (~20Gb free)
Win 98Se (which runs fine)
Is there any other way for me to install Xubuntu?

Which Graphics Card do you have?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

hey inx, I have xubuntu installed on an old dell laptop with 128 meg ram. I don't know which cd you have, but the one I used came from a dvd... out of a magazine... in the magazine article it says: " xubuntu will run fine with 128 meg, BUT it takes 190 megs to install from the dvd," so the alternative method was us burn a "cd iso" that was also on the disk, and mine installed fine ( took about one hour ) and it is now fully functional and getting online perfectly. So , hope this helps.

Well Done !
It looks like it was Graphics Card problem only. You have to install ATI driver to enable 3D. Native ATI driver supports 2D only.
Everything fine over here. Are you from India? How's chandigarh? I was there last month
