I want to install mysql5.0.9 on my fedora5(Linux).When i am giving the first command for installing server
rpm -ivh MySQL-server5.0.9.rpm
intially installation going nicely,But last it shows
Starting MySQL..............[FAILED].

mysql failed

Have a look at the log file - probably in /var/log/mysql.log - for clues. Post any specific messages on here that you need help with.
