Mandrivia temp folders
I have annoying problem on start up before I can get going it loads all the previous stuff I have downloaded or done from previous days.Asking do I want to save run or discard previous days work and the list is getting longer. Is there any way I can get rid of this stuff emptied cache from fire fox but I don't think it is stored in there. AS YOU CAN TELL I AM A NEWBIE , can anyone offer a practical solution.

Are you talking about an individual application? If so what application is it and what desktop environment or window manager are you using?

5 or six times things that i have downloade and finished with and are no longer on sysrem.

List is growing by the day
can send sreenshot if that makes it any clearer , thanks for your prompt reply nice to know there is help out there for a newbie, love linux but i dual boot with windows , so i try to be careful with solution so i don't lose anything.

Try this Kcontrol -> KDE Components -> Session Manager -> On Login -> Start With an Empty Session. After that logout and back in again. Does that clear the problem?
