I certainly would appreciate any help with my kubuntu oeration system I just installed. First with Windows I coud create shortcuts on my desktop when I wanted to revisit a website; Is there anyway to do that with Linux if so, any steps to take would be greatly appreciated. Thank syou so much for your help.

You should be able to right-click on the desktop, then choose:
Create New / Link to Location (URL)oz
→ new members/users: read this first | new member faq
→ no private messages requesting computer support - post them on the forums!

To copy and Paste
Thank you for your reply on the shortcuts; it does work and I am really excited.
Now here is another little bug. When I copy from Internet in my e-mail acct
and paste to openoffice.org word processor it gives un different language or at least part of the text i.e some letters are changed to some funny characters.
If you could tell me what I do wrong or don,t I would thank you so much.

It seems those funny characters appear only when we copy and past french text. I tiyed to copy english text, it is fine. Could you please tell us what do we have to change to copy the exact text in french. Thank yo

Have you installed the French localization package for OOo?

Thank you for your reply. How do we install a french localization package for 00o.
Also can we change the language for the keyboard in order to have accents for the french language.

Look in the KDE Control Center (enter kcontrol in Konsole) and go to Peripherals / Keyboard to choose what keyboard you want.
