Sound Card not detected

Hi,

i installed RH9 on a Compaq Deskpro.
The installation of RH 9 didn't detect the sound card. When i am in the control panel, and click on sound card detection; thanks rh gives me the message "no sound card detected"... Thanks , but how and where can i solve this problem ?

your probably going to either have to install drivers or modules for your soundcard, if you know the make and model, dl a driver and install that, worst comes to worst, you will have to add kernel support for it via a mouel

Hi and thanks for your quick response

So i had a look for the model and it seems to be a ADI soundmax, installed on board of this compaq SFF PIII500.
I had a look for the driver for linux, but didn't find it ?
Can you help me again ?

I noted in the setup of the computer the irq dma and so on ?
Can't that be helpfull to edit a text config file ?
