    Welcome to the forums, man5237!

    Then you need to use Linux as much as you can, and read/experiment with networking as much as you can. Of course, doing that doesn't mean you'll automatically become an expert, but it's a great start.

    If you really want to become skilled in linux, you shold start by building your own system, rather than using a shinny installer.
