Ubuntu/iMac problem
goog morning, I need urgent help. Last night I tried to browse the new release of ubuntu from the cd on my iMac; I thought it wouldn't install it, but it did. Now the result is that when I switch my iMac on, it requires the ubuntu cd. If I put the Apple Tiger cd, it does not recognise it, and now I don't know what to do to go back to my original Operating System.
Any idea of what happened and how to assist me?
thank you.

Hi and Welcome !
Ubuntu or any other Linux Distro doesn't install itself unless you click on Install Icon and follow instructions. Installation takes around 15-45 mins depending on Machine specs.
Boot up from Ubuntu CD, open Terminal and execute this
Post output here.Code:sudo fdisk -l
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

You are Welcome ! If Ubuntu installer hasn't formatted all partitions then it will be easy to fix/remove Ubuntu. Output of sudo fdisk -l command will help us to figure out what had happened and what we can to do fix the problem.
