Yes, it's quite a simple process.

What you need to do is create partitions for RedHat and then install to them. The installer for Redhat should take care of this. Just search Google for dual boot instuctions for Redhat and Vista.

I couldn't find much on Redhat and Vista but here is a guide with Vista and Ubuntu (With Vista already installed).

It shouldn't be to different. Just make sure you have access to the internet on another computer to get any help if you need it before you start

    Hi and Welcome !

Open Vista Partitioning Tool and create 3 partitions.
    1. 512MB to 1GB for SWAP
    2. 6GB+ for / (root)
    3. 6GB+ for /home
Assign as much space as you like for / and /home.

Start RedHat installation and select Manual Partitioning. Assign SWAP mount_point to smaller partition and / and /home to other two. Select SWAP filesystem for SWAP and ext3 for others.
Continue installation. Installer will take care of Dual boot setup. You will have choice to boot up either OS at startup after successful installation.

Do let us know how it goes. Good Luck !

    partition

Is it really necessary to separate / from /home? I have Ubuntu and didn't separate it like that...I've read it comes down to preferences, as long as there is routine backup there shouldn't be a problem with just doing 12gigs for / and have your home installed on that partition

Its on preference only. If you are not taking regular backups then its better to have separate /home partition.
Separate /home partition is good option if you are setting multiboot system with two or Linux distros.
