internet problem

hi guys...
am pretty new 2 linux..am runnin XP n RHEL 5 in my pc..usin a broadband connection.it works well in xp but its not connectin in RHEL 5..i ve configured eth in network(dhcp)..dunno wat 2 do..plz guide me..

Firstly, what kind of broadband do you have and how does that broadband connect to your PC? Do you use an external modem box? If you have several network interfaces, are you sure you have configured the right interface? Can you ping the modem box (if you have one)?

am having pppoe connection..i use usb for connecting..i ve ethernet too but it doesnt ping d modem but the former does ping successfully..wat should i do nw??? pl do help me out..

for broadband to work u have to install the drivers for that.... u have to ask the broadband provider for the required drivers for linux machine
